  1. An RSS feed of the eGigs.co.uk website content (excluding forums) is now available. See here for the details.
  2. The forums have been reorganised to make them more useful - enjoy
  3. The forums have been upgraded today. Due to changes between versions, I'm having to update the colour scheme back to the purple - please bear with me while I sort it.
  4. great idea to post the info - but surely it can be posted into the Venues forums? I'm not sure it needs its own area.
  5. sorted :-) ... now make sure you put some tickets in there to sell
  6. that's exactly why I changed the colours.
  7. OK, now done. BTW, if i've missed moving any of the threads into the righty letter forum, please let me know.
  8. yeah, it's something that I've considered doing. Perhaps the way to do it would be to put them as subforums of a main "venues" forums (in the same way that Glasto has sub forums on the festivals boards)? What do peeps think? Also, I guess if I were to do that, it might be an idea to further split out the bands forums, so there's few letters used for each forum? What do peeps think?
  9. ahhh, the BBC buy that in, and it's sold to lots of sites ... I had the firm who do it contact me about a year ago, and try to get me to buy into using it. He was a normal won't-let-it-lie salesman type, but he soon gave up when I explained that he wanted more to use the database than eFestivals takes in a year.
  10. There's an AWFUL lot of work involved in doing something like this. It would require putting together a database of every band since the year dot, with a discography for each band, and then maintained as bands release new albums. The actual voting bit is easy to do when that HUGE database has been built. It's a great idea, but it's not something I'd consider doing, due to the masses of work involved. But it might be worth you trying to sell the idea to Napster ort one of the other download sites - after all, they'll already have (or can get access to, from the record companies) the databases of bands and releases. Quite how you get to sell the idea to them tho I'm not sure.
  11. ah, right, I mis-understood what you were suggesting, I didn't realise that you meant for the forums. Yes, they could be set to be ordered alphabetically, but I think it would be better for new threads to start as wanted, rather than have ever expanding threads about one band.
  12. the 'latest tours' bit (on the right of the pages of the main site) is listed with the most recently added at the top. But if you click on the "all tours" bit at the bottom of that list, it gives an alphabetical list of all bands listed with future live dates. Hopefully, that gives you what you want to see.
  13. i'm happy for anyone to offer tickets - at face value - in the relevant band or venue forum. I think that spiltting them out as i've done at efests isn't probably the best way to go with it, and it creates extra moderation.

    venues

This website is still getting started, and the database of venues still needs to be built up, to be a complete list of UK venues. If you'd like to help us by submitting details of any venues, then you can do that here.
  15. basically, eGigs will be much more than just the forums. The domain index page you currently see is just temporary. The full site is all still in construction, but will hopefully be revealed shortly.
  16. Meanwhile, you can help this site get started. The database of venues needs to be built up, to be a complete list of UK venues. So, if you'd like to help us by submitting details of any venues, then you can do that here.
  17. right, I've discovered that the two problems above were related, and both controlled by the same setting. So I've now enabled the (forums only) coding options (but not HTML), so links and colours will now both work in sigs.
  18. I've decided (for the moment at least) to not allow links in signatures.
  19. eh? I don't understand what you're saying exactly. (and it seems to have quoted you OK;-)
  20. although this is the release version of this new version of the forums, it appears to still have a few bugs, and that's perhaps one of them. When I get time, I'll look into it.
  21. welcome to eGigs.co.uk - a new musical expression Over the next couple of weeks the whole website will be brought online, allowing you to find out where your favourite bands are playing, or who's on at your favourite/local venue, you can of course buy tickets, plus much more. Meanwhile, you can help this site get started. The database of venues needs to be built up, to be a complete list of UK venues. So, if you'd like to help us by submitting details of any venues, then you can do that here.
  22. I've added just a "favourites" forum to the bands bit for the moment, and we'll see how things go from there.
  23. good plan. One forum, or more than one? How excatly would each be described?
  24. eGigs is just starting out .... if you have an idea on how to make this website better, please post your suggestions, and the best *will* be incorporated into this website. There are many features to still be added - to help you get the best from this site - over the next couple of weeks, and so it could be that things you suggest are already planned.
