  1. Roni Size & Reprazent and William Goodchild, featuring The Emerald Ensemble and Gospel Choir

A once in a life time opportunity to hear Bristol’s drum & bass legend, Roni Size, team up with the acclaimed classical composer, William Goodchild, to celebrate Bristol’s musical talent - past, present and future.

RONI SIZE - From his meeting with DJ Krust in the early 90’s, to the establishment of the Full Cycle label in 1993, it was only ever really a matter of time before Roni Size made it into the big time. Musically minded, dynamic and forward thinking, Roni has pushed the boundaries of the D&B scene and defined a whole generation with his music. Now the driving force behind Reprazent, as well as pursuing his own personal mission, Roni is undoubtedly one of the most talented musicians to emerge from Bristol in recent times. The last time he played at Colston Hall was as a schoolboy, and is now looking forward to making a rather bigger entrance than before!

WILLIAM GOODCHILD - A composer and producer, with a personal style strongly influenced by Western Classical and World Music traditions, William works with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra and the London Metropolitan Orchestra. He has undertaken numerous projects for the BBC including several major natural history series such as Nature's Great Events (2009), Wild China (2008), Ganges (2007), Europe – a Natural History (2005), Journey of Life (2004) and Wild New World (2002) and has recorded for Sony Classical, Universal Classical and Jazz, and CBS Records. In Bristol, William is a guest conductor with the Emerald Ensemble - Bristol’s professional chamber orchestra.

  3. Academy is a terrible venue, the sound is awful, the drinks are overpriced and watered down, and the staff are at best nonchalant, at worst, rude. It's a real pity that they are the only venue in Bristol that can accommodate a large amount of people (other than oceana or syndicate!) .... it gets a bit fat MEH from me
