Cast announce UK tour

tickets will go on sale Friday

news: Tuesday 6th December 2011

Nineties rockers Cast have announced they will be taking to the road next spring with their original line-up.

Originally formed in 1992 from the ashes of two guitar bands of the time, The La's and Shack, Cast released four albums (three of them top 10), and had ten top 10 singles.

A decade later, and the original line-up of John Power (guitar/ vocals), Liam 'Skin' Tyson (lead guitar), Pete Wilkinson (bass) and Keith O'Neill (drums) have reunited with original producer John Leckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead, The Fall) to record their new album 'Troubled Times'.

15 years after the release of their million-selling debut 'All Change', Cast will release the album on 5th March next, with lead single 'See That Girl' the week before Christmas.

The band who split in 2001 reformed last year, and played festivals this year including the Isle of Wight Festival, Splendour, T in the Park, V Festivals, Stockton Weekender, Merthyr Rocks, and Solfest, as well as a tour they're just about to complete.

John Power said of their reformation, "Getting back with the band and working with John Leckie again after all these years apart was just how I envisioned it when I started writing the songs for this album. Then it was all about putting into words what it was I was feeling, about all the things I was seeing all around me and troubled times is what we found."

Fans will get to hear the next material alongside Cast's classic hits on the following tour dates in March and April:

Thu 29 March O2 Academy, Newcastle upon Tyne
Fri 30 March O2 Academy, Glasgow
Sat 31 March Stanley Theatre (Liverpool University), Liverpool
Sun 01 April Leamington Assembly, Leamington Spa
Tue 03 April Junction, Cambridge
Wed 04 April Academy (Manchester University), Manchester
Thu 05 April O2 Academy2, Birmingham
Fri 06 April O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, London

Tickets are priced at £20 (£22.50 London) and will go on sale at 9am on Friday 9th December 2011, and eGigs will have links to buy them then.

John Power will also be appearing at Justice Tonight at Liverpool University on that day, Friday 9th December in aid of the Hillsborough Justice Campaign. He will join The Clash and Big Audio Dynamite's Mick Jones, Billy Bragg, Pete Wylie and The Farm. Tickets are onsale now, to buy To buy tickets, click here.
