Attack! Attack! / Heights

Camden's Underworld, London on Wed 7th Mar 2012

Attack! Attack! are back again baby! With their latest album This Means War backing them up along with support from one of Britain's most notorious upcoming bands, tonight's show at Camden's Underworld is promised to be off the chain with a mixture of heavy riffs and catchy choruses.

Now it may not be packed out to the brim with people this evening, but a small crowd will do for Heights, the co-headliners of this tour. Drop kicking (quite literally) into the hard-core anthem 'We Live Alone', the few gathered here tonight take to the main opening of the room and cause total manic. From a three person pit to another lot mounting the stage, Heights continue to rip open the Underworld with their atomic detonator of slashing growls combined with detonating guitar slams and drum rolls as heard during their performance of 'Oceans' and 'Forget'. With their jaw gripping tunes tearing through the speakers, it's now obvious as to why these guys are doing Britain so proud! Everything about their performance is flawless, from the haunting screeches and thunderous roars coming from the vocalist's mouth during the sabotage song 'Beneath The Skin', through to the energy given by their presence is enough to blow your mind entirely.

Attack! Attack!

Let 'The Reveloution' begin! Sadly the audience hasn't gotten as big as they'd hope, yet Attack! Attack! are determined to pull off an immaculate performance. With their latest metalcore album 'This Means War' just on the horizon, this Ohio lot dive straight into the deep end with 'The Family' following close behind their grand entrance. The gut ripping vocals and gnarly instrumental roll well with the contrast of the remixed version of their much loved tune 'Hot Grills and High Tops' that has everyone off their feet and into some kind of moshing rave. However, it's the sensational classy performance of the one and only crabcore phenomenon 'Stickly Stickly' and 'Sexual Man Chocolate' which makes the show unforgettable. With such a buzz given off by AA! the hell that is unleashed during the electro synthed meets metal 'The Wretched' and 'The Hopeless' is electrifying. The crowd are so involved that they even participate in mounting one another's shoulders for an unusual wall of death that takes place during the detonating breakdown of 'AC-130'.

Tonight's show may be a dedication to the material released off TMW but to end the night right, the AA! Boys rupture into the dance fuelled chaos of 'Smokahontas'. If you were to sum up tonight's show in one world it would be small, but in the words of Albert Einstein, "Small is the number of people who see with their eyes and think with their minds". In this case, everyone who was at this show tonight put 101% into it. Ladies and Gentlemen give it up for Attack! Attack!
