Therapy?

Rock City, Nottingham on Sat 29th Nov 2003

Therapy? came to Rock City on a mission, to demonstrate that they are still one of the best live bands around. Admittedly they no longer get the media exposure that they once had, and yet they still sell out venues - why? Quite simply because they write decent songs.

On stage to volcanic applause, they wasted no time into ploughing their way through 'Nowhere',the audience exploding into action, jumping and rocking away. They played some of their more recent tracks including 'If It Kills Me' and 'Who Knows', both from their 'High Anxiety' album.

Humour was added to the show when Andy Cairns mentioned the fact that Radiohead were playing in Nottingham the same night. Andy said "Imagine all the Ford Mondeo's outside the venue, this next track is for them", and they performed 'Street Spirit'.

The absence of 'Diane' from the set was a slight disappointment, but Therapy's reasoning behind leaving 'Diane' out is because they just don't feel the emotion in the words anymore and so they have decided to leave it out until they really have that genuine emotion back in their voices.

'Die Laughing' was saved for the encore, and it is one of those songs that you never get bored of listening to, no matter how old it gets, it just doesn't seem to age.

Once again Therapy? had succeeded in accomplishing their mission to demonstrate that they still kick ass when it comes to playing live.
