news: Tuesday 11th February 2014

Yorkshire 5-piece Embrace recently announcing their return with new album 'Embrace' due to drop on 28th April, now they have confirmed their first UK tour in seven years with 9 live dates this May in support of the album.

The first release from the record is the single 'Refugees' which is released as part of a 4-track EP next week, giving fans a taster of the new record with three brand new songs not featured on the new album.

Embrace recently performed two secret shows for fans in their hometowns of Bradford and Halifax. The shows have been a showcase for various off the wall shock art tactics, with the band taking the secret gig concept to the next level with a gig in the darkness and a gig in a boxing ring, with the audience dressed in white boiler suits and covered in neon paint.

Though the shows were strictly secret, fan forums went into meltdown with both shows selling out in minutes and fans flying in to see the band from as far as Australia and Japan.

This week, Embrace will play 4 intimate shows in Scotland and have just announced a 9-date UK tour in May as follow:

Fri 09 May O2 Academy, Liverpool
Sat 10 May O2 Academy, Birmingham
Sun 11 May Rock City, Nottingham
Tue 13 May O2 Academy, Bristol
Wed 14 May O2 Academy, Leeds
Fri 16 May O2 Academy, Glasgow
Sat 17 May Academy, Manchester
Sun 18 May O2 Academy, Newcastle upon Tyne
Tues 20 May O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, London

Tickets are priced at £19.50 (£21.50 London) and go on on general sale at 9am this Friday, 14th February, and eGigs will have links to buy them then.
