The Pogues to take 'Rum, Sodomy & The Lash' on tour

four dates in December, tickets on sale on Friday

news: Tuesday 24th September 2013

The Pogues have revealed they will be performing their classic album 'Rum, Sodomy & The Lash' in its entirety at shows this December as well as some firm favourites.

Now nearly 30 years old 'Rum, Sodomy & The Lash' was released 1985 and showcased The Pogues unique mix of traditional Irish folk, punk and classic songwriting.

The Pogues formed in 1982 fronted by Shane MacGowan and released seven hugely acclaimed albums before splitting up in 1996. The band re-formed to play live shows in 2001 and have been playing regularly since. In October they will release a 'Pogues 30' box set containing remastered versions of all of their studio albums plus a previously unreleased live album featuring Joe Strummer at the London Forum in December 1991.

Pogues and Radiators from Space guitarist Philip Chevron revealed recently that the head & neck cancer for which he received treatment in 2007 had returned and is inoperable and will prove fatal in time, though it is at present impossible to measure life expectancy. Who would have thought Shane would outlive both him and his 90's stand in Joe Strummer?!
