Charlie Simpson

O2 Acadmey, Birmingham on Sat 3rd Nov 2012

I've always been a fan of Mr Simpson, sorry to admit it, I've followed him 'shamelessly' from his 'Busted' days to 'Fightstar' and now on to his solo work.

I jumped at the chance to see him again supporting Twin Atlantic at the O2 Academy in Birmingham.

We were treated to a stonking set of 30 minutes, showcasing his solo album 'Young Pilgrim' which incidentally I bought the day it came out. Backed by talented musicians that gelled so well on stage, we were in for an absolute treat.

The mesmerising 'Down, Down', immense 'Parachutes', 'Cemetery', 'Sundown', and the chirpy 'Farmer and his Gun' were all featured, the set was over in a flash, Mr Simpson did his job by warming the audience up for Twin Atlantic.

His album is very underrated, I actually think its fab and he is a talented guy no matter what her turns his hand too.

I actually think this tour has done his career wonders and he's gained a few fans, especially as I think people think he's uncool due to his boy band 'Busted' days, but how wrong could they be.

Do yourself a favour and buy his album, it's a stonker.
