news: Tuesday 15th November 2011

Following the success of his autumn North American tour Sting has announced his 'Back to Bass Tour' will extend to the UK early next year.

The tour will see the ex-Police frontman Gordon Sumner celebrate the 27th anniversary of his solo career by taking it back to bass... "all of the hits, stripped down, as they haven't been played in years."

Sting will be joined on tour by longtime guitarist Dominic Miller, Rufus Miller (guitarist), Vinnie Colaiuta (drummer), Peter Tickell (electric fiddle), and Jo Lawry (vocalist).

In September this year the box set collection, 'Sting: 25 Years' was released which brought together highlights and rarities of Sting's solo career on three CDs.

The 'Back to Bass Tour' will see Sting performing these songs spanning a career from his 1985 debut 'The Dream Of The Blue Turtles' to his latest release, 'Live in Berlin', plus a selection of The Police's classics such as 'Desert Rose', 'Every Breath You Take', and 'Fields of Gold'.

Sun 05 February The Sage, Gateshead
Fri 16 March O2 Apollo, Manchester
Sat 17 March The SECC, Glasgow
Mon 19 March HMV Hammersmith Apollo, London

Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday, 18th November, and eGigs will have links to buy them then.
