The Black Crowes‎ announce farewell gigs

tickets will go on sale next Friday

news: Friday 21st January 2011

Six-piece bluesy rockers, The Black Crowes‎ have announced three dates as part of their final 20th Anniversary 'Say Goodbye To The Bad Guys' tour.

After the tour which includes European dates, the Black Crowes have confirmed that the tour will be their last for a while as they prepare to go on an indefinite hiatus to spend time with family and to work on other projects.

The band will be showcasing their greatest hits, ranging from tracks off their debut album 'Shake Your Money Maker', which featured the hit singles 'Twice as Hard', 'She Talks to Angels,/i>' and a seminal hard rock cover version of Otis Redding's 'Hard to Handle'. Their next album 'The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion' was to propel them to stardom. More recently 'Warpaint', their seventh album to became their fastest-selling release since their 1992 release.

The two dates in London's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire will include two sets – one electric and one acoustic. The latter is expected to feature a number of tracks included on their recent 'Croweology', a compilation of some of their classic tracks re-recorded acoustically. And the former is likely to be a greatest hits show.

The Black Crowes have announced the following dates:

Mon 11 July Manchester Academy, Manchester
Tue 12 July O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, London
Wed 13 July O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, London

Tickets for these shows will go on sale at 9am on Friday 28th January, and eGigs will have links to buy them then.
