80's duo Blancmange announce UK tour

tickets are available now

news: Monday 10th January 2011

Blancmange the Synth-Pop pioneers of the mid-eighties, who have had a major influence on everyone from Hot Chip to La Roux, make their return in 2011 with a new album 'Blanc Burn' and a full UK tour in support of the album.

The duo of singer Neil Arthur and instrumentalist Stephen Luscombe originally released their first EP, the 'Irene & Mavis' back in 1980, and then blitzed the decade with their classics including 'Living On The Ceiling', 'Waves', 'Blind Vision' and their cover of Abba's 'The Day Before You Came'. The pair have comeback to reform after a 23 year absence.

Retaining the trademark fat analogue synth sounds which are so sought after by many of today’s artists and producers, it's as if Blancmange never went away. Songs like the first single 'Drive Me', 'Starfucker' and 'The Western' featuring the Indian percussionist Pandit Dinesh, are confirmation they've lost none of their edge or pop sensibility.

The duo have announced the following dates:

Sun 06 March O2 ABC, Glasgow
Mon 07 March Manchester Academy, Manchester
Tue 08 March O2 Academy, Sheffield
Wed 09 March O2 Academy, Sheffield
Thu 10 March O2 Academy, Liverpool
Fri 11 March O2 Academy, Birmingham
Sat 12 March Concorde 2, Brighton
Mon 14 March The Junction, Cambridge
Tue 15th March Koko, London

Tickets are on sale now priced at £16 (£18.50 for London). To buy tickets, click here.
