Hawkwind are going on tour in December 2010. They are doing 13 gigs, with rockers The Jokers as their support act. The tour is to support their new studio Album 'Blood of the Earth'. The album is Hawkwind's first studio album since 2005, and consists of the first ever studio recording of 'You’d Better Believe It', and a new version of 'Sweet Obsession'.

Hawkwind were formed in 1969 by Dave Brock, and although there have been many changes, Dave remains at the helm of Hawkwind. In 1970, they played at the very first Glastonbury Festival, and appeared outside the fence at the Isle of Wight festival, which helped raise their profile as a people's band. 1970 also saw the release of the band's first single 'Hurry on Sundown' which remains a favourite of the fans today.

Throughout the 70's 80's and 90's Science Fiction author Michael Moorcock has written lyrics for Hawkwind and sometimes appeared with them. In 1975 Lemmy left and formed Motorhead.

Through out the years the band have played and headlined many festivals, including Glastonbury, Canterbury Festival in 2001 and Beautiful Days in 2009. 2002 saw Hawkwind headline their own festival Hawkfest. Hawkwind have been going now, for 41 years, and are a must see act. Each of their shows are different, and have a sci-fi element, and their stage shows consist of lights, sound, dance, sound and theatrics.

Tickets are available now at £20 each, to see their tour dates, and purchase tickets, click here.
