The Libertines announce only warm up show

registration for tickets open now

news: Tuesday 10th August 2010

The Libertines have announced they will play a warm up show before their forthcoming reformation appearances at the Reading and Leeds Festivals. The band will be appearing at the HMV Forum in London on Wednesday 25th August.

The band, Peter Doherty, Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell are credited as revitalising the UK music scene in their short career which saw them produce two outstanding albums 'Up The Bracket' (2002) and 'The Libertines' (2004). This show, and the subsequent festival appearances will be the ONLY chance to see the group.

Tickets will be allocated only through www.thelibertines.com. Applicants for tickets are invited to register on the site for the chance to purchase 2 tickets from 10am today, Tuesday 10th August and the registration will close at 6pm on Friday 13th August.

Successful applicants, chosen at random, will be notified by e-mail on Monday 16th August and will have until midday on Wednesday 18th August to purchase the tickets.

The band felt this was the fairest way to distribute tickets and to avoid fans being charged extortionate amounts for them. Doors will open at 7pm and tickets will be priced at £30 (subject to booking fee).

Please note the venue is strictly 14+, and there will be no tickets sent out for this show, card holder/purchaser must be attending.
