"Is everybody in? The ceremony is about to begin..." (Jim Morrison)

In 1965 in Venice Beach, California, Ray Manzerek, Robby Krieger, Jim Morrison and John Densmore came together as The Doors. During a short six year period the group created the sound of a generation that has remained timeless to this day.

The story, real or embellished, has become legend but that is only one part of the appeal of the group, the real story is the music.

The Doors founding members, Manzarek and Krieger, now take The Doors music to a new territory with a unique performance with the 50 piece Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra for the very first time in the UK, on Friday 16th July at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire.

"London has always been a special place for The Doors... the storied performance at The Roundhouse comes to mind," says guitarist, Robby Krieger. "Of course performing our songs with The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra in London will surely create a magical evening of music not soon to be forgotten."

Conductor Brent Havens, has charted out The Doors songs that will take the band and audience on a two hour ride through the band's musical history and celebrate this great musical legacy.

For those who never got to see The Doors, this is a chance to see two members of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame play 'Light My Fire', 'Break On Through', 'L.A. Woman', 'Riders On The Storm', 'Roadhouse Blues', 'Touch Me', 'Crystal Ship', 'Love Me Two Times', 'Waiting For The Sun', and many more.

Tickets go on sale at 9am this Friday, 30th April 2010 priced at £35. eGigs will have links to buy them then.
