Crowded House announce a nationwide tour

ticket will go on sale on Friday

news: Tuesday 26th January 2010

New Zealanders Crowded House have announced that they will be returning to the UK in May/June this year for a nationwide tour.

Speaking of the tour frontman Neil Finn says, "The intention is the same as ever, to get the people involved, to hit some heights and leave the songs hanging in the air."

Crowded House formed from the ashes of Split Enz and achieved massive success during the late '80s and early '90s with four hit albums and singles including 'Don't Dream It's Over', 'Fall At Your Feet', 'Better Be Home Soon', 'Something So Strong', 'Weather With You', and '4 Seasons In One Day' before the band split up in 1995.

Neil Finn and co. began work on their new album last year at Roundhead Studios in Auckland with Jim Scott as producer. Speaking of the new album, Finn has the following to say, "This 11 track album is exotic in parts, traditional in origin, through many a twist and turn we fashioned some drama and intrigue. You will find some threads that go back through all that history and some new discoveries as well that will need to be followed up. Its part of the continuum and it may just be the best thing we've done 'til the next one."
Their tour dates are as follows:

Tue 18 May Newcastle City Hall, Newcastle upon Tyne
Mon 24 May Symphony Hall, Birmingham
Wed 26 May Manchester Apollo, Manchester
Wed 02 June Colston Hall, Bristol
Thu 03 June Plymouth Pavillions, Plymouth
Fri 04 June Cardiff International Arena (CIA), Cardiff
Sun 06 June New Theatre, Oxford
Tue 08 June HMV Apollo, London
Wed 09 June HMV Apollo, London

Tickets will go on sale at 9am Friday 29th January 2010 priced at £40 for London or £35 regionally, and eGigs will have links to buy them then.
