news: Wednesday 11th November 2009

Southern American country-rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd have announced they will be returning to the UK for a tour next March.

The seven-man outfit includes Rickey Medlocke. Medlocke, the former frontman for Blackfoot, briefly played drums for Skynyrd in 1970 and now handles its lead-guitar duties.

Their latest album 'God & Guns' was recorded in Nashville in late 2008 and early 2009, with the project being interrupted by the deaths of founding member/keyboardist Billy Powell and longtime bassist Ean Evans earlier this year.

Their tour dates are as follows:
Thu 04 March LG Arena, Birmingham
Fri 05 March Cardiff International Arena, Cardiff
Sat 06 March HMV Hammersmith Apollo, London
Mon 08 March O2 Apollo, Manchester
Tue 09 March SECC (Clyde Auditorium), Glasgow

Tickets will go on sale Friday 13th November priced £40 in London and £38.50 regionally, and eGigs will have links for you to buy them then.
