news: Friday 23rd October 2009

Bon Jovi the group that opened London's O2 Arena to mark its conversion from the Millennium Dome are to take up residency there next summer.

The band have not revealed the length of their run, but it is expected to rival the 21-date string of shows which Prince played in 2007. AEG Live promoter Rob Hallett said, "Bon Jovi are the best live band in the world. This one could run and run."

The gigs will be part of the group's 'Circle Tour', named after their forthcoming album. The ageing rocker band, led by Jon Bon Jovi, have sold 120 million albums around the world and performed more than 2,600 concerts.

Tickets for the shows will go on sale on Friday 30th October.
