Josh Homme, Dave Grohl, and John Paul Jones form supergroup

Them Crooked Vultures are revealed

news: Wednesday 5th August 2009

The secret is out, the new 'supergroup' Them Crooked Vultures made up of Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) who are currently putting the finishing touches on their debut album have just announced their first US live dates via an email sent to those who registered on the site.

In a 2005 interview with Mojo magazine, Grohl confirmed the band's existence but since then things have been quiet. The Foo Fighters' singer said, "The next project that I'm trying to initiate involves me on drums, Josh Homme on guitar, and John Paul Jones playing bass. That's the next album. That wouldn't suck."

The supergroup's first show is scheduled for this Sunday 9th August in Chicago. In a French interview with John Paul Jones, he said the following: "I'm working on some other music, which is more rock based, with a couple of other people. We hope to be everywhere this summer."

Currently all news is being kept under wraps, however, an announcement that the band has concrete plans to tour together is expected shortly, which eGigs hopes will include UK dates.

The BeatCrave website, (here) is speculating that the band will also make their first festival appearance at Lollapalooza.
