Former Soft Cell founder Marc Almond has announced an autumn UK tour calling at four cities across the country including Manchester and London this October.

Marc Almond along with David Ball, formed the 'electro duo' Soft Cell in 1979. They went on to release four albums, and had a number of top ten hits including the classic 'Tainted Love'. Soft Cell parted amicably in 1984 to pursue solo projects and in 2000 Marc worked briefly again with David Ball on a Soft Cell tour and an album, 'Cruelty without Beauty'.

Marc has had a successful solo career with over a dozen albums and a number of solo chart hits including 'Tears Run Rings', 'Stories of Johnny', 'A Lover Spurned', 'Adored and Explored', 'Jacky', 'The Days of Pearly Spencer', and 'Child Star'.

In 2010 Marc will be celebrating thirty years in music. Marc is currently working on his new album of totally original material for release in 2010, but before then Almond appears live on the following dates:

Thu 29 October Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham
Fri 30 October Academy 2, Manchester
Sun 01 November Roundhouse, London
Tue 03 November Opera House, Bournemouth
Wed 04 November Grand Theatre, Leeds

Tickets are priced at £21.50 or £23.50 for the London date, and go on sale at 9am this Friday. eGigs will have links for you to buy them then.
