Amon Amarth announce UK headline tour

Sweden's melodic Death Metallers Amon Amarth are set to return to the UK to play their first ever headline tour. The tour will visit seven cities in October and November of this year.

Commenting on today's announcment, the band's vocalist Johan Hegg Said, "We are happy to announce that we are returning to the British Isles for a more extensive tour of the UK and Ireland. We are really looking forward to this tour and to meeting all our UK and Irish fans again."

Amon Amarth released their first demo 'Thor Arise' in 1993 the band have built a solid reputation, thanks largely to a style that is brutally aggressive yet always melodic, with lyrical content based on Norse and Viking mythology.

They released their seventh studio album 'Twilight Of The Thunder God' in September 2008 and had a spot on the European leg of the Unholy Alliance III Tour along side Slayer, Trivium and Mastodon.
