Lynyrd Skynyrd announce 2009 UK tour

4 dates in May - tickets on sale on Friday

Jacksonville, Florida's greatest rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd who relocated to the Southern United States and became on of the biggest bands in rock history are coming to the UK for a tour in May 2009, their first shows on these shores for 6 years.

They have become one of the best-selling artists of all time and named one of the greatest artists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. They're also Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members, and still going strong with over 26 million CD's sold to date. The band is currently writing the follow-up to their 2003 release 'Vicious Cycle', although it is their epic hits 'Freebird', and 'Sweet Home Alabama' that the band are best known for.

The band play the following dates in May:
Wed 27 May SECC, Clyde Auditorium, Glasgow
Thu 28 May National Indoor Arena (NIA), Birmingham
Sat 30 May Apollo, Manchester
Sun 31 May Brixton Academy, London

Tickets will be on general sale from 9am Friday 28th November 2008, priced at £38.50, and £39.50 for the London gig. eGigs will have links for you to buy them on Friday
