Alter Bridge singer rumoured to replace Plant

Myles Kennedy is named as singing in rehearsals with the rest of Zeppelin

news: Monday 13th October 2008

According to Twisted Sister's frontman Dee Snider in an interview with MuchMoreMusic (here) a new singer has been found to tour with rockers Led Zeppelin. The singer is Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge who apparently "can sing the shit out of Zeppelin," says Snider. Snider's has also been reported as saying, "They’re saying to Robert (Plant), 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go, here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid'."

Recently, original lead singer Robert Plant announced that he had no intention of touring with the rest of the band, which now consists of Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham (son of the original drummer, John). Plant continued to wish them luck and asked that people move on.

In a statement, the singer said: "It's both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward. I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects."

It looks like the future for Page, Jones and Bonham who have been rehearsing for a tour with the new singer could be to hit the road without Robert and perhaps we'll hear a few Alter Bridge tunes played by Page.
