news: Monday 17th March 2008

The celebrated African musician Youssou N'Dour will return to the UK on Tuesday 1st April for a one-off gig at London's indigO2.

With a career spanning over 25-years N'Dour's recordings include the album 'Egypt', which in 2004 won a Grammy Award for 'Best Contemporary World Music Album', a MOBO Award, and 'Album Of The Year' at the BBC Radio 3 Awards For World Music.

His most recent album was 'Rokku Mi Rokka' (Give and Take) which was released in October 2007 and reunited N'Dour with Neneh Cherry for the first time since their 1994 worldwide hit '7 Seconds'.

Youssou N'Dour says: "Music is a language, maybe the first language, and I use it to deliver a message because people can hear it and understand it first, quicker than if they waited for a newspaper. I sing about reality, about my society, which is more than just Senegal or Africa. I sing about the world."

Tickets are priced from £22.50 to £40 and will go on sale on Friday 22nd February at 9am and eGigs will have links for you to buy them then.
