Mosh pits, Ozzy Osbourne fans, and the South Dakota police force are obviously far from a match made in heaven...Last Wednesday night a 16 year old Ozzy fan was tasered by police during the Prince of Darknesss gig in Sioux City, South Dakota. The fan had begun a mosh pit towards the end of the set, and security guards had taken action to stop him injuring any of the other crowd members (presumably Ozzy fans are getting on a bit and all this moshing excitement might be a bit too much for them).
After the youth ignored the security guards attempts to calm him down the police moved in, tasered him and pulled him out of the crowd. The youth now looks likely to face charges of interference with official acts, failure to obey a police offer, and assault on a police offer.
Perhaps they should also start tasering people who feel the urge to launch their pints of beer over the crowd. Now theres a good idea.
