registration ends for Led Zeppelin show

news: Wednesday 19th September 2007

Fans have run out of time to register for the chance to buy tickets to see Led Zeppelin perform at the London 02 Arena on November 26th.

Today was the final day of registration for the ticket ballot. Organisers have said over one million people have registered for a chance to get their hands on one of the 20,000 tickets for the gig.

Tickets will be priced at a hefty £125, and will be limited to just two per person. Those who are lucky enough to get the chance to buy tickets will be informed after October 1st.

Promoter Harvey Goldsmith said "We are absolutely overwhelmed with the number of hits received. In the first day alone, we received an unprecedented number of hits that literally knocked the website out. Over the last seven days we have recorded over 1,000 million hits. This response is amazing and from it we have had over one million registrations. We would like to thank all the fans for their support and we hope that all those fortunate to be successful will keep the tickets out of the hands of touts."

As well as Led Zep, there will also be performances from Pete Townshend, Foreigner, Paolo Nutini, and Nill Wyman And The Rhythm Kings backing those three acts as well as playing their own set.

The show is in aid of the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund, created in rememberance of the Atlantic Records founder who died in 2006.
