The reunion of the century?

Caral Barat joins Pete Doherty on stage

news: Friday 13th April 2007

If 2007 is anything to be remembered for, it's going to be reunions. Forgive my cynicism in the face of what, to some people, is the most important thing to have happened since fire was discovered as a quite handy source of warmth and light.

Last night Pete Doherty joined his old Libertine pal Carl Barat for a sing-a-long down at the Hackney Empire. And now everybody's talking about it. The band have barely been gone three years and already the chance to hear 13 songs from their seemingly classic repertoire is enough to get indie-sprog-scenesters foaming at the mouth.
