Guilty Pleasures line-up announced

Ed Harcourt, Cerys Matthews and Guy Garvey

news: Thursday 22nd February 2007

The BBC Concert Orchestra will be hosting a one off live event at Hackney Empire on Tuesday 20th March 2007.

The event will bring together a number of special guests to sing some of their favourite tracks from Sean Rowley’s Guilty Pleasures repertoire.

“I couldn’t believe it when I got the call from the BBC Concert Orchestra, not all of them of course, not in my wildest dreams did I think I would be working with a proper concert orchestra.” Says Rowley.

“Its like the peak of the powers of Guilty Pleasures, it’s the ultimate guilty pleasures experience. So I was quickly on the phone to friends and family of guilty pleasures asking them if they wanted to perform their own guilty pleasure with the orchestra and that’s how this great line up has come about. A lot of great opportunities have come my way since doing Guilty Pleasures, but this just takes the biscuit, this is truly amazing. A dream come true.”

Guests lined up to play the date alongside the 40-piece BBC concert orchestra will be Cerys Matthews, Chas ‘n’ Dave, Ed Harcourt, Guy Garvey (Elbow), Les McKeown (Bay City Rollers), Sarah Cracknell (Saint Etienne), Siobhan Fahey (Bananarama / Shakespeare’s Sister), Terry Hall (The Specials / Fun Boy Three).

Tickets cost from £12 to £16. To buy click here.
