Bloc Party announce new tour and single

news: Wednesday 14th February 2007

You can't seem to get away from them at the moment. Bloc Party, whose second album A Weekend In The City made it to number 2 in the UK charts earlier this week (second to Mika), have announced more live dates.

The band are currently in the middle of a sell out UK tour, but now have added an extra 6 dates in April, starting at Glasgow's Academy on Saturday 14th, and ending with two dates at London's Brixton Academy on Thursday and Friday the 19th and 20th.

To coincide with the tour the band will release their second single from their latest album, the follow-up to 'The Prayer', entitled 'I Still Remember' through Wichita Recordings on Monday April 9th. The full tour dates are:

April:

Sat 14th Glasgow Academy
Sun 15th Wolverhampton Civic Hall
Mon 16th Plymouth Pavilions
Wed 18th Blackpool Empress Ballroom
Thu 19th London Brixton Academy
Fri 20th London Brixton Academy

Tickets are priced at £16.50 (£17.50 in London) and go on sale at 9:00am on Friday 16th February.

Special guests for the tour are Biffy Clyro (except Glasgow - which is a bit odd), Mahogany (all dates) and The Maccabees (Glasgow only).
