Denny Doherty of Mamas and the Papas has died, aged 66

Denny Doherty, a member of the 1960's folk-rock group the Mamas and the Papas died on Friday, aged 66.

The singer/songwriter, whose partly responsible for hits like 'California Dreamin'' and 'Monday, Monday' had suffered from kidney problems after surgery last month, and had been put on a dialysis machine.

He died at his home in Mississauga, near Toronto. eGigs expresses our sympathies for his friends and family.
