Jarvis Cocker joins Morrisey in Eurovision Song Contest plight

It seemed an unlikely enough story when it was announced that Morrisey was considering performing at the Eurovision Song Contest. But it appears he might have kicked off a bit of a trend.

Now former Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker is expressing an interest in the annual competition, which, to be fair, has always been a bit of a farce as far as the British are concerned. He has offered to write next year's Britain’s Eurovision Song Contest entry.

Speaking to BBC Five Live he said, “I’m not going to compete with Mozzer if he’s going to do it. I’m sure he’ll write something good.

“The door is always open if they want to ask me. I’ve always wanted to write one for them. Maybe I’ll do it next year.
”

Yesterday Cocker picked up a Brit's nomination in the 'Best Male' category. This follows news earlier in the week of a new UK tour. See below for details:
