Engerica (Supporting Yellowcard)

Rock City, Nottingham on Thu 9th Mar 2006

Admittedly I know very little about Engerica, and so I thought I would trundle down to Rock City to catch them supporting Yellowcard!

As soon as Enegrica took to the stage they wasted no time in battering the crowd's eardrums with their blend of high-velocity punk-rock played at supersonic speeds.

If anything this was perhaps too hardcore for my liking. That isn’t to say I didn’t enjoy their live performance - quite the opposite. I found that sticking to what they want to do, even if it means it will take them longer to get the recognition, is quite a refreshing attitude. It may take them a while to get to be a high profile band, but after seeing this energetic performance, I imagine it won’t be too long before they attain the success they deserve.

The time just flew by with Engerica and in what seemed a very small amount of time they had got through their setlist, which included the crowd pleasing ‘The Smell’.

Engerica are one of those bands that are certainly worth catching live, but be warned, their music is the type that you either really love or really hate - with no inbetween!
