Carling Live 24 Line-Up Announced

'Live music marathon with some of the hottest bands around'

news: Wednesday 8th March 2006

After the success of last year’s Carling Live 24, this year it’s back, bigger than ever: 19 BANDS, 8 VENUES, ONE CITY, ALL IN 24 HOURS...

Tickets will go on sale at 10am on Tuesday 14th March exclusively at www.carling.com. People wishing to buy tickets are urged to visit the site now for further information and register their details. Carling is pleased to announce that there will be no booking fee payable for any of their gigs.

This year Carling Live 24 will kick off at 7pm on Friday 28th April and fans with enough stamina can keep rocking right through to 7pm the following day. Eight venues in London have been specifically chosen by Carling to enable gig-goers to see each headline band back-to-back throughout the 24 hours. Carling Live 24 will play host to exhilarating live sets from the hottest UK artists including Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Ian Brown, The Ordinary Boys, Dirty Pretty Things and many more - making this one of the biggest music events to hit the city in 2006! Additional artists and venues are still to be announced.

T4’s Steve Jones will host Carling Live 24 and Channel 4 will film the full 24 hours for six hours of programming across E4, 4Music and T4 throughout the weekend.

Carling Live 24
Friday 28th April 2006 – Saturday 29th April 2006

19:00 – Kaiser Chiefs
@ Carling Academy Brixton

The recent Kings of the Brits will be kick-starting Carling Live 24 in Carling Academy Brixton on Friday 28th April. The Leeds quintet will be banging out their trademark catchy, fist pumping tunes such as ‘I Predict a Riot’ and ‘Oh My God’.

22:00 – Ian Brown
@ Carling Academy Islington

The Mancunian singer songwriter is returning to Carling Live 24 for a one off exclusive gig, bringing his back catalogue of classics to London. As Ian Brown mixes his own style of junglist drums, reggae pulses and techno beats, fans will be reminded once more of the unique sounds of the living legend – the latest God-like genius to be inaugurated into NME’s Hall of Fame.

23:00 – Goldie Lookin’ Chain & The Cuban Brothers
@ Canvas goldie lookin' chain
The leisure-wearing Goldie Lookin’ Chain lads from Newport are back to keep the crowds going through the night at Carling Live 24. Canvas will come alive with the sounds of ‘Your Missus is a Nutter’ and ‘You Knows I Loves You’. The Cuban Brothers with their fresh approach to live entertainment are sure to whip up a frenzy at this one-off, exclusive gig.

07:00 – Larrikin Love
@ Barfly

Larrikin Love are set to be the new hot things in 2006, and you heard it here first! Catch them at this early morning gig at this intimate venue where so many legends have been made.

11:00am – Dirty Pretty Things
@ Carling Academy Islington

This slot is reserved for bands on the verge of greatness and Carl Barat’s outfit are the only ones who can fill the 2006 part of the line up. 2004 saw Franz Ferdinand and 2005 was Kaiser Chief’s turn so now Barat et al will step forward to terrorise the Saturday morning shoppers at the Angel Shopping centre blissfully unaware of what is about to happen...

14:00 – The Ordinary Boys
@ Hammersmith Palais

The Ordinary Boys will be keeping things lively throughout the afternoon with hits from their two highly acclaimed albums ‘Over the Counter Culture’ and ‘Brassbound’, including their hit single ‘Boy Will Be Boys’.

16:00 – Razorlight
@ Shepherd’s Bush Empire

Razorlight will be closing Carling Live 24 in style at Shepherd’s Bush Empire playing an electric set including classic tracks such as ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Lies’ and ‘Stumble And Fall’. This will be their first outing on the road with new material from their forthcoming album.

More venues and bands to be announced shortly...
