Texas

Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham on Mon 10th Oct 2005

After an incredible performance at this years V Festival, Texas decided to embark on a UK tour, which by any standards was way overdue!

Sharleen and co got the proceedings underway by belting out one of their classic tracks as the opening song - 'I Don't Want a Lover' - which got the crowd instantly hooked, and from this point on the crowd were under Mrs Spiteris command.

It's amazing how many tracks that Texas have recorded which have dominated the airwaves without you actually realising that it's Texas. I would be lying if I said that I knew the title of every track, because quite simply I didn't know the names! However I did recognise all of the tunes, which demonstrates the high level of mainstream success the band have had.

Texas could do nothing wrong as they ploughed through the setlist which included- 'Summer Son', 'Black Eyed Boy', 'Halo', 'When We Are Together', to name the few I can name.

As you would expect they saved the very best for the encore, with a storming version of Scissor Sisters' 'Take Your Mama Out', and of course the melodically wonderful 'Say What You Want'.

Texas are one of those bands that can keep you entertained for the entire show, and I challenge anyone to see Texas live and tell me that they honestly did not enjoy it!
