JANUARY

Thursday 15th

Milestones Jazz - Nick Pride & The Pimptones

Doors 8.00 pm £5 door

Guitarist and composer Nick Pride and his quintet, the Pimptones, play original material at the funky end of jazz in the style of The Meters, Maceo Parker, JTQ and Charlie Hunter. Having recently supported Candi Staton and played the huge North East Funk and Soul Revue, the band are looking forward to showing off their dynamic range and soloing skills in a more intimate jazz club style setting. Expect tightly arranged horn melodies, not so serious vocals and jazz noodlings over Breakbeat Funk.

(Preceded by Milestones Jazz Workshop at 7.00pm £3 with FREE entry to gig)

Friday 16th

Loosely Acoustic - Album Launch Night

Our regular Acoustic Night sees the return of the award winning Paul Liddell. Paul is an accomplished singer song writer who gigs all over the country and recently supported Beth Rowley. He went down a "bomb" last time he played Loosely Accoustic (just ask Audrey!!).

Two other artists who appear on the album, ‘Wheretoland’, who have been compared to Bright Eyes and Stockton's political folkster, Nigel Cooke are also on the bill (short guest appearances from some of the other artists who appear on the album are planned for the evening).

Thursday 29th

Milestones Jazz – Chris Sharkey with Andy Champion and Adrian Tilbrook

Doors 8.00 pm £5 door

"Guitarist Sharkey’s astonishing technique sees him produce a vast array of otherworldly sounds from his battered looking Fender Strat, creating a torrent of angular flurries, gut-wrenchingly heavy, chugging, riffs and spaced out looping. He’s one of the most exciting young guitarists on the UK scene, and one that might just find fans in both free jazz and avant metal camps." – JAZZWISE
