I'm working with Goldie Lookin chain who are cramming December with Christmas fun in the form of live shows, Following Goldie Lookin Chain's release of their album It’s a Goldie Lookin Christmas (the Fairytale of Newport) the band will be performing a series of live gigs in the run up to Christmas.   5. I’m helping out Rizla who are organising a free DJ masterclass event in Manchester this afternoon with MJ Cole. From the website: The Rizla Re-Crafted tour will take in four music production workshops, hosted by Back2You and featuring MJ Cole as the Rizla Re-Crafted Ambassador. Each workshop will run for two hours and focus on particular techniques in regard to remixing a track. The workshops will include a practical session from MJ Cole that will demonstrate production techniques, industry tips and studio suggestions. A live feed will be incorporated so delegates can see first hand how these techniques are applied as well as an interactive Q&A session with MJ Cole. Each delegate will be given the opportunity to enter the Rizla Re-Crafted remix competition, a reduced price ticket for the evening showcases and a certificate on completion of the workshop. It's taking place at The Deaf Institute from 4pm - 6pm. Once you have worked your magic and re-crafted the track, upload it to the site and let the panel of judges that will include the Mystery Jets, listen to all the entries and pick a winner. The winner will see their music given unprecedented profile. Rizla will send out the track to its extensive network of label and DJ contacts across the music industry. In addition, the winner will be kitted out with a Hercules DJ Console RMX – the complete DJ controller - plus a sack of Rizla goodies.   6. The incredible Joana and the wolf are playing at a free gig at Favela Chic in London on Wednesday 31st March. Their music is an exotic fusion of Russian folk, rock and and electro. Definitely worth checking out!   9. I went to this gig last Wednesday and it was really good. Great venue. Kirsty has a lot of energy and her band were incredible. I am involved in promoting the band, but having seen them live, I'd definitely recommend heading down there.
