U2 have been announced as performing in Trafalgar Square in London on Saturday 11th November after receiving the Global Icon award at MTV's Europe Music Award. They release their 14th album "Songs of Experience" on Friday 1st December this year.
The event has a 7000 capacity and tickets will be free and arranged by ballot here. The ticket application is currently open and closes at 10pm on Tuesday 7th November. Anyone who gets tickets will be e-mailed at 10am on Wednesday 8th with a link for two tickets per successful applicant.
