Bette Midler announces first UK tour in 35 years

Singer and performer Bette Midler has announced she will tour the UK for the first time in 35 years - her last UK performances were in 1979 and 1980.

The tour kicks off at Birmingham's Barclaycard Arena (formerly the NIA), and ends in London. The UK tour will also feature her first ever dates in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Leeds.

The tour will feature material from Midler's career and material from her album, 'It's The Girls!' released today, featuring everything from the sounds of WWII-era Andrews Sisters, to 60's super-groups like the Supremes and the Shirelles, to 90's hit makers TLC. The album will be released on 17 November on East West Records.

Bette Midler said, "I have always loved visiting and working in the UK. It will be a thrill to finally do a proper UK tour and be back performing here."
