The B-52s announce a trio of UK dates

The B-52s, the first act this writer went to see on his own as a lad, have announced they will return to the UK for three shows this August.

THe American New Wave band, formed in Athens, Georgia in 1976 and emerged from post-punk and retro-surf to plug into the early forms of dance music. Fans can expect songs like 'Planet Claire', 'Rock Lobster', 'Dance This Mess Around' and 'Private Idaho' as well as hits including 'Love Shack' and 'Roam' and 'Deadbeat Club'.

Expect a classic B-52s dance party, a showcase for the non-stop, high-octane force of a group that has never lost their youthful and dynamic energy. As they take their party-music revolution into the 21st century they show no signs of slowing down, serving up their own unique blend of music and showmanship to millions of fans around the world!

The tour will see them play the following dates:

Tue 13 April Manchester Academy, Manchester
Thu 15 April O2 Academy, Birmingham
Fri 16 April IndigO2, London

Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday 8th February priced at £30 (regionally) and £36.50/£33.50 (London) and eGigs will have links to buy them then.
