tickets will go on sale on Friday

news: Tuesday 29th January 2013

The seventh and final show has been announced for 2013's Teenage Cancer Trust concerts at the Royal Albert Hall with longstanding supporter of the charity Paul Weller headlining on Monday 25th March with support from Palma Violets.

On being asked to headline Paul Weller said, "I'm looking forward to getting on stage for the final night of Teenage Cancer Trust at Royal Albert Hall. I've always supported the charity and have seen first-hand how hard they work and what a huge difference it makes to the kids. When Noel asked me to headline I didn't hesitate."

Curated by Noel Gallagher, the line-up for the annual series of nearly all sold out shows includes Ryan Adams, Kasabian, Primal Scream, Rizzle Kicks, Labrinth, Russell Brand, and Noel Fielding, all to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Also just announced are some special guests for the shows running from Tuesday 19th to Monday 25th March. Kasabian are joined by newcomers Dark Horses, and Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys will open for Noel Gallagher for a very special show featuring performances from special guests including Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon. Beth Orton as previously announced will support Ryan Adams.

The music and comedy shows are Teenage Cancer Trust's flagship event. The money raised makes a massive difference to the lives of thousands of young people with cancer across the UK through life changing care and support. As the only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting teenagers and young adults with cancer, Teenage Cancer Trust relies on the support of the general public to fund a range of services that aim to improve their quality of life and chances of survival.
Noel Gallagher, a key supporter of the charity, was asked to get involved in curating the shows by Teenage Cancer Trust patron and frontman of The Who, Roger Daltrey CBE. Roger, has been the driving force behind the concerts which have raised over £15 million for Teenage Cancer Trust since they began in 2000. This is the first time he has invited anyone else to handpick the incredible line-up as he's on tour in America.

Noel said, "Teenage Cancer Trust do a brilliant job, and I've always been more than pleased to lend my support over the years. It's also now a charity that is very close to the hearts and minds of dozens of acts in the world of music. It's an honour to have the task of putting together the bills for this year's series of concerts at The Royal Albert Hall."

Tickets for Paul Weller are priced from £25.00 (plus booking fee) and go onsale at 9am on Friday 1st February and eGigs will have links to buy them then.

Each day in the UK, 6 teenagers will be diagnosed with cancer - that is over 2,000 diagnoses per year. TCT funds specialist teenage units in NHS hospitals, providing an environment where teenagers can get on with being teenagers, a positive environment expected to improve survival rates and ensure a better future for patients and their families.

Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall raises essential funds to support the charity's work.
