New Order announced first UK tour in six years

Following the success of their sold out shows in Brussels, Paris and London at the end of last year, New Order have announced their first UK tour for 6 years today.

The Mancunian band formed from the remains of Joy Division following the death of singer Ian Curtis in 1980, went on hiatus between 1993 and 1998, and broke up in 2007. Frontman Bernard Sumner and drummer Stephen Morris have been playing in new outfit Bad Lieutenant with guitarist Phil Cunningham and bassist Tom Chapman, and now return with a new line-up featuring fourth original member (and Morris's wife) keyboardist Gillian Gilbert, but not New Order bassist Peter Hook.

The band who have been confirmed for European festivals Exit, and Festival Internacional de Benicassim will paly the following UK dates:

Thu 26 O2 Apollo, Manchester
Sun 29 April The Ballroom, Birmingham
Wed 02 May O2 Brixton Academy, London
Sat 05 May O2 Academy, Glasgow

Expect a set-list of hits including 'Temptation', 'Blue Monday', as well as classic songs from Joy Division such as 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'.

Tickets are price at £35 and will go on sale at 9am on Friday 3rd February, and eGigs will have links to buy them then.
