Funeral For A Friend announce UK tour

tickets will go on sale Friday

news: Tuesday 14th June 2011

Following the release of Funeral For A Friend's fifth studio album 'Welcome Home Armageddon' earlier this year, the band have announced a new crop of headline dates in October.

The band who headlined the Pepsi Max stage at Download festival last weekend and vocalist Matt Davies-Kreye said of their forthcoming headline tour, "Having just laid waste to this years Download fest we are beyond excited to be hitting the road again in October around the UK bringing forth our musical version of Armageddon. The last UK tour was just the tip of the iceberg, this time it's gonna be hardcore!"

Support acts on the tour will include US rockers Escape The Fate, Aussies The Amity Affliction and The Bunny The Bear.

Funeral For A Friend's latest single 'Broken Foundation' has just been released and the band are looking forward to bringing their new material to the masses on the headline tour. Of the new track, drummer/vocalist Ryan Richards said, "It's probably the heaviest track we've ever written and, again, a lot of fun to play. This is probably the one I'm most looking forward to playing live. There's a first on there with Kris doing his first recorded guitar solo! He's been waiting almost ten years to unleash the beast and now it's out for all to feast over!"

The band appear at other festivals this summer including The Rumble Down South, Devon Rox, and Hevy Music Festival.

Their announced tour dates are as follows:

Sun 23 October Wulfrun Hall, Wolverhampton
Mon 24 October Queen Margaret Union (QMU), Glasgow
Tue 25 October O2 Academy, Newcastle upon Tyne
Thu 27 October Rock City, Nottingham
Fri 28 October Academy 1, Manchester
Sat 29 October O2 Academy, Bristol
Sun 30 October Roundhouse, London

Tickets will be priced at £16.50 (£17.50 London) and go on sale at 9am this Friday 17th June, and eGigs will have links to buy them then.
