tickets will go on sale this Friday

news: Tuesday 14th September 2010

Liverpudlian neo-psychedelia pioneers The Icicle Works will reform for their '30th Anniversary Tour' (1981-2011) in spring 2011 visiting Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and London.

The Icicle Works rose to fame in 1983 when they scored two major hit singles 'Birds Fly (Whisper to a Scream)' and 'Love is a Wonderful Colour'. The band released four albums between 1983 - 1988, all achieving top forty placing, until they broke up immediately after their swansong 'Blind'.

More recently in autumn 2006 Ian McNabb resurrected The Icicle Works for a sold-out 25th Anniversary tour. The other two members of the band were Chris Layhe (bass & vocals) and Chris Sharrock (drums), the latter enjoyed great success playing in Oasis. Ian went on to record one more album, 'Permanent Damage' under the name The Icicle Works using session musicians in place of the departed Chris's.

Ian and The Icicle Works will be touring the UK extensively in 2011 for their 30th Anniversary and will be coming to the following cities:

Fri 29 April Club Academy, Manchester
Sat 30 April O2 Academy, Liverpool
Fri 06 May O2 Academy Islington, London
Sat 07 May O2 Academy 2, Birmingham

Tickets are priced at £18.50 regional (£20 London), they will go on general sale at 9am on Friday 17th September, and eGigs will have links to buy them then.
