Vampire Weekend announce eight UK shows

American indie rockers Vampire Weekend have announced they will take to the road in the UK for eight gigs in February 2010.

The New York based band will be over this side of the Atlantic to promote 'Contra' the follow up to their self titled 2008's debut album. 'Contra' is slated for release in January next year, and will feature 'Horchata' the current free download single gaining airplay at the moment.

The band will play the following dates:

Fri 12 February O2 Academy, Newcastle upon Tyne

Tue 16 February O2 Academy Brixton, London
