news: Thursday 24th September 2009

Eighties new wave band ABC will be performing the album 'The Lexicon of Love' in its entirety 27 years after its debut release at Sheffield City Hall and Manchester Bridgewater Hall this December.

After the success of their performance at London Royal Albert Hall in April, Martin Fry along with ABC and a 50 piece orchestra conducted by arranger and composer, Anne Dudley from the Art Of Noise will be repeating the show with two more performances of their debut album which topped the album charts in 1982 which kick-started the Eighties with their brand of pop.

Fusing dance floor finesse with a post-punk attitude the album included their first single, 'Tears Are Not Enough', and their three top 10 hit singles 'Poison Arrow', 'The Look of Love (Part One)' and 'All of My Heart'. The album was produced by Trevor Horn and featured orchestration by future Art of Noise member Anne Dudley.

'The Lexicon of Love' will be performed in its entirety and conducted by Anne Dudley on the following dates:

Sat 05 December Sheffield City Hall, Sheffield
Sun 06 December Bridgewater Hall, Manchester

Tickets will go on sale from 10am tomorrow, Friday 25th September, and egigs will have links for you to buy them then.
