Babyshambles tour tickets go on sale

band delay new album because of lack of public interest in indie landfill

news: Thursday 20th August 2009

Tickets go on sale tomorrow for Babyshambles tour dates in December, despite the Peter Doherty and co. delaying their next album because they believe the public are sick of the indie scene at the moment.

The group had planned to release their third LP later this year but have now put the release date back to concentrate on solo projects because guitar-based music is experiencing a dip in popularity in the UK, while electro pop has risen to prominence.

Drummer Adam Ficek is quoted as saying, "Babyshambles won't release a record until late next year when the scene is more fruitful. At the moment, most guitar bands are struggling. People have got bored because there's a generic sound. There was a lot of money going into indie music so more mediocre bands have managed to sustain a career out of it."

Despite their unhappiness with the current surge in indie landfill bands the bands are still touring this December. Presumably the band feel the public aren't fed up of seeing them. Their tour dates are as follows:

Thu 10 December O2 Academy, Sheffield
Sat 12 December Cardiff University SU, Cardiff
Sun 13 December The Pavilion, Bath
Mon 14 December O2 Academy, Liverpool
Tue 15 December Guildhall, Southampton
Sat 19 December O2 Academy, Birmingham
Sun 20 December Rock City, Nottingham

Tickets go on sale at 9am tomorrow, Friday 21st August, and eGigs will have links for you to buy them then.
