The Specials announce Glastonbury warm up gig

special 100 Club gig in aid of keeping the venue independent

news: Monday 1st June 2009

The Specials, currently enjoying mass critical acclaim following their recent 30th anniversary tour, have joined forces with Fred Perry for a very special show at The 100 Club, London on Thursday 25th June as part of a campaign to keep the venue independent.

The show will be a warm up for the band's performance the following day at Glastonbury Festival. The 100 Club is a landmark of the London music scene and was integral to the growth of the punk and 2-tone scenes but ironically this show will be the first time that The Specials have taken to its stage.

Entry will be to competition winners only and competitions can be found on the band's website at www.thespecials.com and www.fredperrysubculture.com. No tickets will be available from the venue at all.

All proceeds from the evening, including the band's fee, will go to the campaign to keep the 100 Club an independent venue.
