making The Demolition Ball the final event at the Astoria

news: Monday 12th January 2009

As previously reported, the legendary Astoria in London will be closing its doors for the final time on January 15th to make way for a Crossrail project that will link the east and west of the capital with a new train line.

Manumission, the organisers of the Astoria, London's closing party this Thursday, 15th January, have been forced to cancel the event due to problems getting the line-up together.

The organisers have said, "We wanted to give the Astoria the send off it deserves, we feel saddened and disappointed by the decision made to pull what could have been an amazing event, especially in these troubled times."

Manumission were to have kicked off their World Tour with this date and still intend to visit London for a special appearance later this year.

The Demolition Ball, see information here, taking place on Wednesday 14th January, will now be the final event.

Push Club, the last event at the Astoria 2, will be going ahead as planned on Thursday 15th January, click here for more information.
