Damon Albarn tells the BBC that Blur reunion is possible

but does add he can't say anymore

news: Thursday 6th November 2008

Former Blur frontman Damon Albarn has revealed in an interview with the BBC (here) that there is a real possibility of a Blur reunion after he has re-ignited his friendship with the band's former guitarist Graham Coxon.

In May 2002, Coxon was asked to leave Blur early in the recording of their seventh album 'Think Tank' because of his failure to turn up and 'attitude'. Since the 2003 tour of the album, Blur have done no studio work or touring with members engaged instead in other projects.

Albarn told the BBC he is thinking about returning to his original band, saying, "It's very possible I'll go back to Blur, it really is very possible. The truth be known Graham and I have been hanging out together a bit. We had lunch the other day."

The band's bassist Alex James had previously hinted at a reunion but their official site revealed after the band had met up that Blur would not be reforming. This latest interview still sheds little light on if the reunion will actually happen with Albarn adding, "He's great, it's fantastic to get my old friend back. So it's good but I can't really say any more than that."
