Guitarist-singer-songwriter Lindsey Buckingham has revealed whilst in Canada for a solo show that the legendary rock group Fleetwood Mac will be re-forming for 2009.

The British/American rock band formed in 1967,and had a string of hits including 'Black Magic Woman', 'Rhiannon', 'Go Your Own Way', 'Don't Stop', 'Dreams', 'The Chain', 'Little Lies', 'Everywhere', and 'Seven Wonders' and the reunited band were last on the road throughout much of 1997, the 20th anniversary of their Rumours album.

Lindsey Buckingham revealed that the 2009 line-up will include the remaining members singer Stevie Nicks, drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVie. The singer announced, "It'll be the four of us and a couple of other additional backup musicians. No one of note."

The guitarist also told journalists, "Fleetwood Mac is going to start doing something, rehearsals for some touring, in January, (and) we will probably be out in spring."
