Madonna's tour staff threaten to quit

they're unhappy that she's living the high life

news: Tuesday 2nd September 2008

Madonna is close to losing some of her 250 tour crew during the 'Sticky & Sweet' tour, due to the staff feeling they are receiving second class treatment whilst Madonna tours in the lap of luxury. A number of her staff have voiced their anger after being forced to sleep in a cheap airport hotel following her concert in Nice last week.

While Madonna and her 12 strong entourage stayed in an £11,000-per-night château in France, her on tour dancers are staying at a cheap hotel priced at £50 for her Nice tour dates.

According to a source which spoke to the Daily Mirror newspaper, (here), "Everyone is absolutely furious with her and some of them want to walk out of the tour. They feel they are being treated like second-class citizens, despite all their hard work over the last few months".

The insider added, "Trouble has been brewing for a few months in the Madonna camp, especially since all the claims that her marriage was in crisis. Now to make matters worse, they are being forced to stay in horrible places and fly on cheap low-cost flights, while she has the lap of luxury. Several are already talking about walking if things don't improve".

As well as Madonna's family, 12 personal staff members are also staying at the expensive accommodation, including a personal chef and a team of six beauticians.

While the superstar travels in style by private jet and has a helicopter fly her from accommodation to venues, her staff are flying with budget airline Easyjet.
